Unless you have been livin under a rock, you know that Father’s Day is just around the corner. I don’t know about you, but me father was me first super hero! He taught me many life lessons and helped shape me into the pirate I be today.

Erik’s Father, Ray, was also directly responsible for helping shape the DeliCafés you know and love. He helped design the feel and atmosphere with  barn wood and nostalgic items. And when Erik first opened the Scotts Valley DeliCafé, Ray would stay up all night making those delicious soups!

Fathers are amazing and our crew would like to wish every father, and fathers to be, a Happy Fathers Day!

I was just told that April be Poetry month, so I wrote a little diddy for ye to enjoy!

Just pulled into shore with giddy anticipation…Can you guess why? Yes, it is Spring. Yes, the weather is beautiful. Yes, the flowers are blooming. All good guesses, but the reason for my giddiness is (and here is a clue, it starts with a “B” and ends with an “aseball”) Did you guess what it is yet?

That’s right its BASEBALL SEASON!!!! Whether you are an Oakland A’s fan or a San Francisco Giants fan, we can all cheer together for the beginning of the 2013 season. There is nothing better than inviting the “crew” over to the “ship” and enjoying the game. Preferably with a cold drink and an Erik’s Pot Belly Sandwich. Happy St. Patty’s Day…weekend! This is one of my favorite holidays because it emphasises on eating, drinking and being merry with family! This old salt, can’t think of a better way to spend a holiday. It also gives us a chance to pass down any traditions we may have to all the little would-be pirates and pir-ettes. Whether it’s sitting down to a corned beef and cabbage dinner or going down to the see the parade. Whatever it is, they will be cherishin’ the memory and hopefully  be passing it down to their young’ens.

With that said, we want to know, what are your St. Patty’s day traditions?

I personally, like to round up my crew and cook a special dinner for all of them. I usually make Irish Beef Stew, Irish Soda Bread, and Corned Beef and Cabbage with extra potatoes. Did I forget anything? Oh yes, can’t forget the spirits!

Ahoy there landlubbers,

‘Tis Sea Dog here again, coming to you with a message from me captain. He says that you all need some real pirate names! And none of this “Steve the Pirate” non-sense either. So I decided to pillage from the rich seas of the “interwebs” and found this “handy dandy” tool.

Then I thought to myself…”Self. Why don’t you turn this into a blog event?”
